2025 Seabeck Retreat

2025 Spring Retreat

What: The SSMQG 2025 Spring Retreat
Where: Seabeck Conference Center located at 13395 Lagoon Dr NW, Seabeck, WA 98380
When: Friday May 9 at 4pm through Monday May 12 at noon
Who: Registration is currently only available to SSMQG with active memberships
How much: $395.00. Paid in either one or two installments due by February 25/March 25.
What’s included: Access to the sewing studio during the previously stated hours, sleeping arrangements, and meals provided in the common building. The following meals are provided: Friday: dinner; Saturday: breakfast, lunch, and dinner; Sunday: breakfast, lunch, and dinner; Monday: breakfast and lunch.
How many: The space accommodates 18 people
Registration details: Registration will open on the SSMQG website on February 9 at 8:00pm PT. Registration will be based on receipt of an active SSMQG member’s completed form submission time. Registrations received after the spots have been filled will automatically go onto the waitlist.

Warm and Company Field Trip

The Warm and Company plant in Elma, WA offers tours on the 2nd Thursday of the month. It starts at 10 and lasts 3-4 hours. You need good shoes for walking and dress for cold temperatures inside the warehouse. Participants must be 18 years or older. The tour is limited to 26 attendees

I am arranging a trip on April 10 and can offer 3 spots in my car for carpooling. If you’d like to go in my car or arrange your own transportation, please let me know by April 1. I need to make reservations for us. From what I’ve been told this is a great informative tour and there may be free samples.

Aug. 9 Outdoor Quilt Show

We did this last year and it was lots of fun, so we’ll do it again. Mark your calendars for Aug. 9 at Washington Elementary in Tacoma. Show off your favorite quilt made this year or you’ve made in the past. There’s no charge to attend and quilts are not for sale.

Sept. 13 De-Stash Sale

We are planning to hold the de-stash sale on Sept. 13. As you go through your stash, anything you want to donate to the sale should be clean, contain no pet hairs, and have no ragged edges. We will accept sewing/quilting tools, sewing machines, sergers, sewing-adjacent machines, and newer quilt books and patterns. We are not interested in anything that is broken, nor do we want yarn-related items. Keep your donations at home until August when we will have a work party. More details on these items will come soon. Details TBA about how we want them to be marked.
