2025 Guild Challenges

2025 UFO Challenge:

Use the UFO list form to keep track of your UFO's and show them during our Guild meeting. Two awards will be given at our Christmas party: one for the most UFO quilts finished that year, and a second award randomly picked from everyone who has completed a UFO.  If you finish a UFO that isn’t on the list, it still counts. “Finished” means quilted and bound. Kits also count, where you have the pattern and the material but haven’t cut anything yet. If you have the material but not the pattern, it isn’t a UFO, it’s your stash.

January/February:

Potato Chip Block (betcha can't sew just one!). This is an easy block using 2.5” x 4.5” rectangles that can be laid out in various ways. Directions and examples are on YouTube and Pinterest. For example, there are potato chip block tutorials on YouTube by Inspired Quilting by Lea Louise, Conquering Mount Scrapmore With Brenda, and Chatterbox Quilts. Also others, so use the one you like best and make a block or quilt or bag or jacket or Pringles cozy or anything else!

March/April:

Monochromatic Challenge. Make a quilt or block using only one color. (Using a low volume option of your color for background is encouraged, but using a neutral as a background is fine too.)

May/June:

Beatles! Put on some music and get inspired. Get creative and make something that represents any Beatles song lyric or album.

July/August:

Christmas in July/Summer. Get a jump on a Christmas project.

September/October:

Three Favorite Things. More details will come soon, but start thinking about your three favorite things or interest areas.

November/December:

Paint Chip. You will be given a paint chip and to make a project out of that color.
